Outlook 2007 Configuration
I had to reload MS Office 2007 after reloading the Vista Operating system on
my Dell laptop due to a malfunction of virus. After reinstalling Office I received the following message when trying to open Outlook: The extension configuration file "C:\program files\MS Office\Office\Addins\fldpub.ecf" cannot be installed. There is an error in the syntax or format of the file. Also, when I tried to install Outlook again by selecting Add or Remove Features on the installation disk, it shows MS Outlook with a red X which means, "Not Available". Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? Thanks, ...FSM -- ....FSM |

Outlook 2007 Configuration
Did you upgrade from outlook 2000? That file is for net folders, which were
removed beginning in 2002. Find and delete extend.dat - see http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/filepath.htm if you can't find it. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com.
