Your response Suzanne was "clearly" uncalled for.
Your article is informative. Changing the margins in the print set up did not help at all. I then tried to change 'pt' value on the options tab of borders and shading and i was able to get a partial line showing but not the full line. I have now changed the setting to be 'from text' instead of 'edge of page' and i have used all of the 31 pt's and after moving the footer up the border is there but the page looks quite crowded as the border is closer to the text than it was with the edge of page option. I have a concern that now the basic formatting has changed, when the document is sent to the customer, who most likely is using a laser printer, the formatting will be off. Is this a concern? If you want to see what the document will look like when printed on the
client's printer, you need to install the driver for that printer and set it as the active printer. Print Preview will then tell you what you need to know. But if you're printing the job to a printer that can't handle the "From edge of page" setting (which is true of most inkjet printers), then your only option is to use "From text." I don't pretend that this is ideal, but it is the only solution available in current versions of Word. Depending on what your content is, you might be able to put the document text in a text box or frame that is smaller than the margin width/height (not practical if it's more than one page). -- Suzanne S. Thank you for your feedback, I will try the driver suggestions for my own
piece of mind. Carrie "Suzanne S. Hope you don't mind my interruption, but I have the same problem.
After many happy hours trying to fix it I finally stumbled on the following solution. In my Printer Properties box I have an option "Minimise Margins". Selecting this fixed the problem. The printer is an Epsom 830U "carrie" wrote: Thank you for your feedback, I will try the driver suggestions for my own piece of mind. Carrie "Suzanne S.
