Default Updating links to another workbook after sorting

I have linked a cell in one workbook with a cell in
another workbook. The link appears to treat the cell in
the source workbook as an absolute reference. So, if I
move the row or column, as in sorting, the link refers to
an incorrect cell.

For example, I link workbook Alpha, cell C1, with
workbook Beta, cell D1. If I resort the rows in workbook
Beta, the original cell D1 is now D2, but the link still
reads D1.

Does anyone know how to link to another workbook where
it's not an absolute reference? Is this even possible?

Thanks. Andy
