Chapter Number - Page Number Problem
Hoping someone can help me with this...I can't get my "chapter number" with
my page number in Word 2007. I created a new style, based it on Heading 1 I've assigned it to a new multilevel list style Number appears with the paragraph in the body But, when I go to format page number and check the "include chapter number" box, I get an error message that reads "There is no chapter number to include int he caption or page number. To apply chapter numbers use the multilevel list button on the Home tab and select a numbering scheme that is linked the heading styles." Any suggestions? Thanks, |

Chapter Number - Page Number Problem
You must *apply* the buit-in heading styles to text for chapter/page
numbering to work. Using a style based on Heading 1 won't work. See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/numbering/chapternumber.htm. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Jen" wrote in message ...
