Default How to import contacts to a folder other than CONTACTS?

I used several identities in Outlook Express to manage my email lists. Each
had a different address book. I would like to import the contacts from each
address book into different folders in the My Contacts area in Outlook 2003.

When I created a new folder under MY CONTACTS and selected it before I went
through the import process, I thought the contacts from the second address
book would be added to the new folder. Instead, the contacts were imported
to the original CONTACTS folder and they are invisible. (Another issue).

How do I import contacts to a folder other than the main contact folder?
(Or should I be exporting? See below.)
How do I get rid of the invisible contacts or make them visible?
OR How would I move contacts from one folder to another?

RELATED? I have already found that it is better to export messages from OE
to OL rather than to be in OL and to import from OE because the imported
message dates take on today's date rather than retaining their original
received dates. Even so, with exporting from OE, the modified date creates
some archiving issues since it takes on today's date. So, am I correct in
importing contacts while in OL or should I be exporting them from OE?

Please help! This should not be so complicated, I confess!
