Default Numeric field overflow

I split my database to have a front and backend in order to palce it in a
mulitple user environment. I have security and also created an MDE file for
the users. All worked fine until I tried to add another table. I get the
error "numerice field overflow" when the users try to import data using a
macro that I created. The only way I can get the import to work is to delete
the links to the split database and import all of the tables. If I split the
database again it does not work. Please help me???
