Default how do i create new?

what is the easiest way for me to learn how to create a log using excel to
track sales contacts and related follow-up/notes for each contact?

Very difficult to point you in a specific direction since your needs are
quite general.

Maybe you can find a Template from the Template Gallery that suits you.

Browse or direct search using keywords like "contacts" or "sales" or "sales
contacts"
