Problem with editing cells
I am fairly new to working with tables, so I may be missing some basics:
I am trying to edit a table created in Word (by someone else no longer here, so I can't ask her). I am trying to clean up the document by adjusting text alignment (it looked sloppy). In some cells, when I change the vertical text alignment, it changes only slightly. I have checked cell properties; I have unchecked the "Specify row height", I have made sure there aren't any hard returns, etc. What else can I try?? I even tried inserting a new table and starting from scratch, but it is doing the same thing. Help! |

Can you further define "sloppy"? What are you wanting/expecting the text to
do that it is not doing? -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "Teri" wrote in message ... Problem with editing cells
What else can I try??
Hi Teri, Word is a bit "sloppy" in that both cell properties (like cell padding) and paragraph properties (like "space before/after") have an influence. Have you looked at the paragraph properties? I try to keep all text in tables in the "Normal" paragraph style, which does not have any spave before or after (in Word 2003 at least -- it does by default in Word 2007, where that space is initially overridden by manual formatting, but can reappear ... a pretty messy design).
