Can linked tables be made for ".log" text files?

I'd like to make a linked table for a CSV-formatted text file. The file has a
".log" extension, which is required by another program that uses the text
file. Access apparently doesn't support linking to ".log" text files. Is
there any way make a linked table without changing the file extension before
and after each use?

Hi,

This http://support.microsoft.com/?id=304206 shows how to change the
extensions that Access will accept. The neatest method is the last,
editing the registry (provided you're carefulg).

Alternatively, this http://support.microsoft.com/?id=306144 includes
code that automatically makes a copy of the textfile with a .txt
extension and imports that. Could be modified to link it.
