how do i stop office 2007 configuring startup
Thanks for the MS Access ACL, Tomasdepomas. I'm still trying to get this to work. I've run the acl in. I have an MS Access application that uses MS Access 2003 RT but no other components of MS Access 2003. I have MS Access 2007 installed too because it is the corporate office system. When I the App and run MS Access 2007, I get configuration dialog from the later, which I have to let finish. The next time I run the App, it too runs a config dialog. Any ideas? -- sglnzl ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sglnzl's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/sglnzl.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/office-setup/1024781.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

I can try to help you out, but i'll need some information from you. I'll need some information from you'r logfiles, to get this information follow the next steps. These steps are based on Vista but will probably not differ much from another windows Operation System. First open MS Access and wait while it's configuring. -This way the last entry in the logfile will be an error from Access.- When Access is all finished you can close it and open the configuration panel. Then make sure the configuration panel is showing the 'classic view'. Now find the Administrative tools, open it and then open the 'Event Viewer' -in XP go to Adminstrative tools, open Computer Management and then in the console tree expand Event viewer- Expand the Windows Logs in the tree, then click the application folder which is now shown. You will see a large list of logs at the center of your screen, find the first 2 warnings from the top down. If I am correct the source of the warnings will be "MsiInstaller" and the id's will be 1001 and 1004. I need the general information from these warnings, especially with id 1004 which contains the resource. For example: -Detection of product '{90120000-00B4-0409-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature 'PROJECTFilesIntl_1033', component '{D7DA3BED-BCC0-4381-904A-DEB81A4C7B07}' failed. _The_resource_'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MSProject.ALL.9\D isplay\1033'_ does not exist.- So select the complete warning like I did and copy it (press CTRL and C at the same time) and post it here. greetz Tomas (Tomasdepomas just sounds funny cuz it rhymes) -- Tomasdepomas ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tomasdepomas's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/tomasdepomas.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/office-setup/1024781.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

how do i stop office 2007 configuring startup
Hi again, As you mentioned in your post, I did not expect these warnings/messages. I've googled your warning and the best thing i could find for you is this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891642 It looks like this page deals exactly with the problem your dealing with. But since i can't reconstruct your situation you'll have to do it with my advice, meaning that I can't be sure this will actually be the solution. If you have more questions, feel free to ask them. how do i stop office 2007 configuring startup
Hi guys, just reading through the thread and very much interested. Any graph
work I do I get the configuration process which is very much a nuisance but never high on the priority list. I get the same namespace warnings in the event log. Never did get it figured out. Is this worth paying for a support call? (I'm working remotely and a bit uneasy trying to get into the computer inerds). Happy holidays - chuck |

how do i stop office 2007 configuring startup
Hi guys, I'm receiving the same message. Started after I installed 2007
upgrade from 2003. Access graphs keeps reinstalling. Looking at event logs finds 'GetUserDefaultLCID failed, restorting to system verion' which probably explains the reconfiguring every time. How do I fix? "sglnzl" wrote: Hi Tomas, I followed your instructions to look at the events. how do i stop office 2007 configuring startup
I wasn't a member here at all. But i HAD TO JOIN, ONLY to thank Ghoymakh for sharing the fix. God bless you and wish you success in life! Ayesha. Quoted text: Hi, i've been busy on this problem a few days and i found the solution. The problem is that there are permissions issues of some registry entries. There two ways of fixing this problem. 1. Fix every registry entry that's on your PC ( a few websites/forums advise this) 2. Fix only the registry entries which are 'broken' ( that's my approach ) Either way you would have to use SubInAcl. 'Download it ' (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...aylang=en)from microsoft.com This tool allows us to edit registry entries even those which you need special rights for. We will make simple files, depending on the application you need to fix, with code that will fix your registry entries. 1. Download and install SubinAcl. 2. Locate the install folder (default is Program Files/Windows Resource Kits/Tools/) 3. Open Notepad 4. Add the lines you need for your applications (you can find the lines bellow) 5. Save the file as "Officefix.cmd" in the folder where you found SubinAcl. 6. Open the officefix.cmd _I_work_on_Windows_Vista_(Business)_this_fix_is_no t_tested_on_other_Operating_Systems_then_Vista_and _is_only_tested_for_Office_2007_ That's it, that worked fine for me. -- eyeshaw ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eyeshaw's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/eyeshaw.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/office-setup/1024781.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
