Default saving messages in outlook express in a non-outlook express file

my regular mail reader is YAHOO MAIL. Once in a while, I have booted
up mail using OUTLOOK EXPRESS. The problem in doing this is that ALL
messages in my YAHOO MAIL are taken out of YAHOO MAIL and inserted
into OUTLOOK EXPRESS MAIL.

Is there a method wherby I can transfer ALL of the accumulated
messages in OUTLOOK EXPRESS and transfer them over to another file
that can be read independently of
OUTLOOK EXPRESS? By doing this I would not be lifting messages out
of YAHOO MAIL.

All replies welcomed! Aaron in N. Hollywood

How about changing the settings in OE to "leave a copy messages on server"?
Go into ToolsAccounts and on the Advanced Tab you will see this option.

If you save them out of OE (drag and drop or File | Save As..) or DBXtract
or DBXpress you can them merge them together since they are just a text file
with a .eml extension instead of .txt. You will have the headers as well.

Once you get the messages out of OE, open that folder at a Command Prompt
then type in COPY *.eml Mail.txt
