Mouse Wheel Function Lost in Excel VBA 2003

Default Mouse Wheel Function Lost in Excel VBA 2003

I've been programming Excel VBA for many years, and I find
the use of the mouse wheel to zoom up and down in the code
to be nearly indispensible. I just started programming in
Excel 2003 VBA, and my mouse wheel became impotent in the
VBA editor. I saw some place where another guy wrote that
he had the same problem, and just gave up trying to fix it.
I've tried everything I can think of including changing
"mice", but the replacement has the same problem, and it
was made by a different company. Anyone else have this
problem?

Sometimes getting a new mouse driver helps:

If it's an MS mouse:

Jake Marx just posted a suggestion to a similar question that pretty much
reverses what I wrote. He said getting an earlier driver may help:
