Default Outlook 2000 setup for Charter.net mail

I cannot get my Outlook 2000 to connect to my charter.net mail account. On
start of outlook I need Postoffice: and do not know this or all of the
necessary settings.

Did you install Outlook in Corporate/Workgroup mode or Internet Mail Only
mode? Your message indicates the former. In Control Panel, use the Mail
applet to configure your mai lprofile, eliminating the Exchange account and
adding the Internet Mail account.

Considering the age of the client and the message about a "Postoffice", I
suspect he may have the Microsoft Mail (WGPO) service installed.
