"code execution has been interrupted" message on startup of Word
Oddly, today I began getting the message "code execution has been
interrupted" whenever I start up MS Word whether it's a new or existing file. When I close the dialog box everything seems to work. 1. How do I get rid of this message? 2. Why did it occur? Thanks much!!! |

I solved this problem thanks to another post a few pages down the list. I got
the advice from this web page: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...peningWord.htm I looked in the 2 "STARTUP" folders (real and factory pre-set) and found a corrupted file called "PDFMaker.dot". My gut feel is that the file contains a malicous macro. After I renamed it everything was back to order. PDFMaker.dot is the interface between Adobe Acrobat and Word that provides
the Acrobat menus and toolbar and associated macros. If the file is corrupt replace it with an original - you'll find a duplicate in a sub folder of the Acrobat program directory. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org gabriolaislander wrote: I solved this problem thanks to another post a few pages down the list.
