Progress Bar on Continuous Forms

Good morning,
I am trying to add a progress bar to each record in a continuous form. Is
this possible?

I have a query that has three fields, Name, Total Hours, Used Hours.
I would like to list the Name and then use the Total Hours as the Max of the
progress bar and the used hours as the value of the progress bar. So when
the continuous form is called I can see a visual representation of the number
of hours used on each task I have set up.

Is there a way to link these fields to the each record's progress bar?

In a db I worked on I simply created a text box with a nice background color
and then set it's width to 0. Then using vba set its width based on a
multiple of the Amount of work completed/Total amount of work to be done.

Thank you for the input. I understand the concept with the sizing the text
box and would not have a problem with this in a single form, but being a
continuous form I am not sure what event would be able to be utilized to
change the width of just this records text box, and not all records displayed?


Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You actually might be able to simulate this affects by the following:

I would simply build a function and bind it to a text box


eg:


=(string([Value 1 to 10],"*")

The string function simply in the above will return the number of asterisks
based on the first expression. Thus, the effect would not exactly be a
progress bar, but it would be somewhat similar if you choose to square
character, or perhaps one of the dingbats characters from the keyboard.

And, you could try giving the text a control a particular color, I think you
could get the effect you're looking for.

Even if you don't get the colored bar effect you're looking for, the box
with varying numbers of * in it would give a reasonable visual affect.
