Default adding diff pdf files for each record

hello!
seeing as how i am relatively new to access, i figured id try here before
anywhere else.
i am trying to do a couple of things with my database.
1. i would like to add a different pdf file (a map) for each record. i am
not sure how to do that yet. (i am not familiar with the coding either, so if
there is a way to create this without using coding, please explain)
2. i would like to create status bars (that change color) based on the
status of our project. for example, if the project is progressing along, i
would like the bar to be green, etc. is that possible without having the word
"green" appear as it does now.

thank you! i trully appreciate any help!

an image, such as a map, can be linked to a record by adding a new field to
the underlying table that is defined as a hyperlink field. ones this field
exists in the table then it can exist in any form sourced on that table.

as with any hyperlink field, if clicked on - then it will launch the default
application for that file type; in your case Adobe

entering a new hyperlink field is not immediately obvious; right click, and
select 'Edit Hyperlink' and then browse to the file location....

As to "status bars"; not sure what is meant; but yes one can conditionally
manipulate the the color of any control. I don't know which value is the
trigger. When you have the form in design view; right click on the control
you want to change color and you will see a conditional option there.....
