Default Secure SMTP

f a client is configured using secure SMTP ie TCP 465 , can this be
configured without authentication ?

I am just trying to confirm if TCP 465 is secure SMTP , but using TCP 587
means Secure SMTP with authentication .

Thanks

Seems to me you asked this before.

The mail provider is free to require authentication no matter what port they
use for SMTP connections. Your mail provider must tell you whether or not
they do.
