Default automatically date a field

I have a field [LastUpdated] in table [MemberFile].
I need it to automatically enter the date anytime any of the fields in the
Memberfile table is changed. But I don't need or want it to put a date in
the field if the Memberfile is opened in either the front or backend, only
if a change is made.

Would I do this (and how would I do this) in the properties of the field
[LastUpdated] or would I use a Macro (again how would I do this) ?

I do not know vb and only work from design views.
I am running Access 2002 SP3

Thanks in adavance!
Rebecca S.

This has been asked and answered in another group. Please do not post your
questions more than once, as you end up with several people spending their
time to answer the same question.

I meant to post it here and not in the form group. I think since it is a
question about tables it would be more suited here.
I normally do not post more than once, but I have seen that different people
answer questions in different groups and wanted to make sure that since it
was a TABLE question I posted here.
I am sorry if I wasted anyone times!

No prob. If you wish to post a question in more than one gourp, enter all
the group names in the "To" field. this will display the message in
multiple groups, but only one message will exist. If someone responds in
one group, the response shows in all the groups where your copy is posted.

Allows you to get more than one group of users to see your post, but also
allows them to see if a resolution is already posted.

Hi Rebecca,

What you did was called "multi-posting", writing the same thread
individually into more than one newsgroup.

Wanting to post into two or three newsgroups at a time is a legitimate thing
to do. But please do it by "Cross-posting", putting all of the newsgroup
names in the header and send the post only once. It will then go into all
of the newsgroups and an answer by anyone in any of the newsgroups will
propagate to all of the others. That way nobody's time gets wasted.
