Database
Gentlemen,
I would be forever grateful if you could help me. I use a HP Pavilion 7850 with Windows XP Professional. For several years I've been using a program to store/enhance my digital photos called Photo Recall Version 3. I have hundreds of precious pictures in my albums. Just recently for the first time I am unable to access these albums. Instead I get a message stating 'Failed to open the Photo Recall database. Database error Couldn't create;no modify design permission for table or query 'GA_SHELVES' Error 800a0c27. I must have done something to suddenly cause this problem. PR Utility Room couldn't help. It said 'The database repair operation succeeded but the database compact operation failed'. I'd be much obliged if you could help or advise me where to seek help. Sincerely, Jim McConville |

Did you try opening a copy of your backup copy of the database?

I could be wrong, but it sounds to me like your database
is too large. For example Access only handles up to 2.05Gb of data. You could create a new database, then go to File / Get External Data / Import to get most of your pictures over to the new db. Watch out for size restrictions. I would then create a third db to import the rest and then use this new db when you have additional pictures to store. When this one gets close to full, start another new db and work from there. -----Original Message----- Did you try opening a copy of your backup copy of the database? -- Ken Snell MS ACCESS MVP "Jim" wrote in message ...
