Outlook 2003, Outlook Connector, and Windows Mobile Device Center
I am trying to get my mobile device to synchronize with the account in
Outlook 2003 created with Outlook Connector. However, I only seem to be able to get it to synchronize with the main calendar. The same is true for contacts. If I could, I would actually just synchronize directly with Hotmail, but as far as I know the only way is to use Outlook as a middle-man. What can I do to make Windows Mobile Device Center synchronize with the calendars & contacts that I want? Thanks. -- Nathan Sokalski http://www.nathansokalski.com/ |

AFAIK, you can't sync with the outlook connector account. It is stupid that
windows mobile can't sync directly with live accounts. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Poll: What version of Exchange server do you use? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=33803 "Nathan Sokalski" wrote in message ... Outlook 2003, Outlook Connector, and Windows Mobile Device Center
I don't remember exactly how I set it up, but before I got my new computer
(I just got a new machine with Windows 7, I was still using Windows XP before), I had Outlook 2003 set up so that it was able to synchronize with my Windows Live Hotmail account. I was then able to synchronize Outlook 2003 with my Windows Mobile device (obviously I had to use ActiveSync then, since I was still using XP), but I didn't need to manually copy anything between the calendars inside Outlook 2003, so there is either something that ActiveSync was capable of that Windows Mobile Device Center isn't, or I am still not setting everything up the same (which is possible, since I don't remember all my exact settings in Outlook 2003 on my other machine). Any more ideas? Thanks. "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote in message ... AFAIK, you can't sync with the outlook connector account. Use POP3 for the live account - but that only gets mail, not calendar and
contacts. The connector account will not sync. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Poll: What version of Exchange server do you use? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=33803 "Nathan Sokalski" wrote in message ... It syncs with the delivery location in the mail profile. Have you tried designating the Hotmail folders as your delivery location? First, back up your mobile device and your local PST. Then in Outlook, click ToolsE-mail AccountsNext and change the "Deliver new e-mail to the following location" drop-down to select the Hotmail folders, if you can. If that works, click FInish, then stop and restart Outlook. Try to sync the mobile device now. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Thanks! I knew there was a way, and I think you just helped me find it! So
whatever the reason, I am now able to sync like I was before. Thanks. "Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... "Nathan Sokalski" wrote in message ...
