Outlook 2003 anywhere, SBS 2003R2 & Win7
We have SBS 2003R2 installed and working perfectly. Previously win Vista
client and Outlook 2003, I could use outlook anywhere without problem with self-signed certificate. I recently started using Win7 with a clean install on the client with OL 2003 (Office 2003) and the same SBS 2003 R2 box. Nothing has been changed on the SBS box. But I hv been unable to use OL RPC/HTTP from the Win7 client now. With Exchange Remote Connectivyt Analyser to test the RPC connectiviy, it fail with the error "The Certificate chain did not end in a trusted root" Is there anyway, you can make Win7 use self-signed certificates to connect OL 2003 to SBS 2003 over RPC/HTTP? |

Have you already imported the self-signed certificate as a trusted
certificate on the client machine? That's one of the downsides of using self-signed certificates; you must install it manually on each client. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "NitinS" wrote in message ... Yes indeed, I did it in IE8 but use firefox as my default browser. Firefox
does not seem to hv an option to choose destinations to place imporeted certificates. I researched the net and see that many hv similar problems with WIN 7 which do not seem to resolve! What is your take? Tku "Roady [MVP]" wrote: Have you already imported the self-signed certificate as a trusted certificate on the client machine? Firefox 3.6+ does not allow self-signed certificatees to be imported as
Trusted root authority as IE8 allows. But then changing default browser to IE and with the cert imported as Trusted root did not make any change to the situation at all. Guess Win7 is the culprit afterall because the same setup worked well with VISTA ultimate! Someting the difference between VISTA & WIN7 that can be tweaked? |
