Default Recommendations to attach Related Documents

Hello,

I hope you can assist me in a design question....I have related documents, i.e. .ppt, memo, letter, that need to be linked/attached to particular records and displayed in a form. I have created a tblDocument with a link to the correct SystemID in the tblSystem. In the frmSystem, I tried using a hyperlink for those fields, but it took way too long to open. I then tried OLE, but the Word and Excel documents would not open on a double click in the form, as did the PPT document. The properties on the objects are exactly the same, set to double click, however the Word or Excel documents will not open into there own app versions.

Do I need to include code for the Excel and Word fields on the DblClick property?

I suppose another option would be to create a command button to open the documents....Do you suggest another way of attaching these documents?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciative.
Thank you,
Mary :0)
