MICROSOFT VISUAL BASIC - SYSTEM ERROR &H8000FFFF
Each time I close Powerpoint, I received a message "Microsoft Visual Basic.
System Error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113). Catastrophic failure." I tried re-starting Powerpoint it still didn't worked. I get the same error message. I am using Office 2000. I understand this problem also happens in excel and word. Grateful for any help/advise. |

MICROSOFT VISUAL BASIC - SYSTEM ERROR &H8000FFFF
Is the error happening for you in only PPT, or does it also happen in Word
and./or Excel? You've received some suggestions in the PPT group for troubleshooting. Like MVP Steve Rindsberg there, I'd suspect a faulty add-in. Adobe PDF Writer has been implicated in this error in the past -- do you have the Acrobat PPT or Office add-in(s) installed? If I were you, I'd close PPT, search for all *.PPA files (these are PPT add-ins), rename them to *.OLD, and see if PPT works better. If it does, close PPT and rename the *.OLD files back to *.PPA one at a time until you isolate the problem add-in. Of course, you'll need to turn on file extensions in Windows to be able to do this. http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00034.htm has instrux for unhiding extensions. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com "kyoung" wrote in message ... MICROSOFT VISUAL BASIC - SYSTEM ERROR &H8000FFFF
Dear Echo S
This only happens in PPT for me. Someone mentioned in his reply that it also happens in Excel and Word - I can't verify this. I will try out your suggestion within the next few days and let you know the outcome. Many thanks for your help.
