Saving File in Access 2007
I created a database and then wanted to add a field but got an error message:
You have exceeded the maximum number of columns allowed in a table or the maximum number of locks for a single file. I only used about 30 columns. |

Try doing a Compact and Repair. That may fix it.

How do I do that? Can't find it in any of the menus. This is my first
experience with Access 2007. I was able to add fields without difficulty in the older version (98). "Jerry Whittle" wrote: Try doing a Compact and Repair. Click the Microsoft Office Button, point to Manage, and then, under Manage
this database, click Compact and Repair Database. That's from Help. I didn't know how to do it in A07 either! If that doesn't help, I have a couple of other trick up my sleeve. -- Jerry Whittle, Microsoft Access MVP Light. Strong. Cheap. Pick two. Keith Bontrager - Bicycle Builder.
