Default Meeting Request Compatibility: Outlook 2003 vs 2000

Hi,

I am hoping someone has dealt with this one already and might have an easy
solution for me. I have checked the Microsoft Support KB and found nothing
relevant there.

I am using Office 2003, recently upgraded from Office 2000. My
correspondent is still on Office 2000.

When I create a meeting in Outlook Calendar and send a Meeting Request to my
correspondent (i.e. created in Outlook 2003 and sent to Outlook 2000), the
request is received as a plain e-mail message (see below) rather than being
interpreted by Outlook 2000 as a meeting request and handled appropriately.

This seems like a backward compatibility issue. Is there anyway to tweak
Outlook 2003 to send Outlook 2000 compatible meeting requests, or to add
compatibility to Outlook 2000 to handle Outlook 2003 meeting requests?

Excerpt of Meeting Request (received as e-mail message):

NB
Prior to upgrading, Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2000 meeting requests worked for
me.
Subsequent to upgrading, Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2003 meeting requests work
fine for me.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Don't include a reminder in the request you send from Outlook 2003. There's
also a hotfix for Outlook 2000 -- search the KB for "vCalendar
compatibility."
