Default How do you get email addresses only on "Select Names"?

When I'm selecting names for a distribution list, I have the person's name
showing up twice: one with an email address and one with - of all things -
the fax number. How do I get rid of the fax number leaving just the one name
and one email address per person?

Thanks, Diane. Just wondering how hard it would be to incorporate a fix for
this problem within Outlook itself. Seems like it could be a simple option
in one of the tabs in "Customize" or "Options" menues. Having to go back and
add a letter or the word "fax" to every person in my "Contacts" folder, or
pay someone else $25 for yet another windows-fix application is just one more
annoying problem with being a Windows user. I think I'll see if I can get
Steve Jobs on the phone....

There is nothing to fix - fax # are legitimate electronic addresses.

If you think apple is the end all be all, good for you. They are no better -
they are more expensive.

I've got a similar problem in that I have prefixed my fax numbers with
various prefixes including 'FAX', 'fx', 'fa', etc. I've tried exporting my
contacts as a .csv and .xls file, stripping the prefixes and then importing
back into Outlook but the result is a blank fax field in all contacts!

Any suggestions?

Similar problem to what? Thread is too old to follow and you didn't quote
any post. State the problem you are having. If you are trying to create
resolved fax addresses, importing them will never do so.

Alrighty...let's start from the beginning. I am using Outlook 2003 and I have
prefixed my fax numbers with various prefixes including 'FAX', 'fx', 'fa',
etc. I've tried exporting my contacts as a .csv and .xls file, stripping the
prefixes and then importing back into Outlook but the result is a blank fax
field in all contacts!
