I was wondering how to have excel have a specific number input
I was wondering how to have excel have a specific number input only. For
example I make a grade spread sheet, and I have where I can put grades on the horizontal row. Is there a way, where only the numbers of 1 though 100 can be imputed and nothing else. Like if I put over 100, it would say error or not allowed or something? I realize I can lock everything else, But I still want it, so it will keep it within a data range, encase I make a mistake or something and excel could pick it up. |

Hi,
You can use 'Data Validation'. Select the cell(s) then Data|Validation - In the dropdown select 'Whole number' and then set your parameters in the boxes. Click the 'Error Alert' tab and create a custom message. -- Mike When competing hypotheses are otherwise equal, adopt the hypothesis that introduces the fewest assumptions while still sufficiently answering the question.
