Outlook Lab
Hi,
I'm going to be setting up a lab with 20 computers, I'm using Outlook 2003, is there a way to setup a "moc" email server? I'm using XP Pro and the class is going to be over Outlook 2003 and I'd like to be able to send and receive email but I don't have an Exchange server (there's no server at all), I was just wondering if there was away around having to create 20 POP3 accounts. Thanks for your time, Craig |

Build your own internal POP3 server or contact your ISP to provide the
mailboxes; http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art...3_Service.html -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more ----- wrote in message ... XP cannot act as a server this way; no. There might be some 3rd party
applications that support this but Windows XP Pro is still limited to 10 client connections at a time. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more ----- wrote in message ... Hello Craig,
I am afraid that there is no such built-in feature in Outlook 2003 that can achieve your goal. I agree with Robert on his suggestion that you may need to build your own internal POP3 server as Outlook 2003 is only a client email program.
