Default hide private contacts

How do you hide your contacts that are marked "Private"? And how do you make
them show up agian?

By marking them Private, you prevent others sharing your contacts folder
from seeing them. Unchecking Private makes them visible.

what do you mean by "hide"? do you want to see all bar the Private ones?

You could make a filtered view through the Define New View function. How
you get to that depends on your version and you forgot to post that crucial
piece of data.
