Default Will crime scene add in for Visio 2000 work on Visio Pro 2003? (N.

Just bought and installed Visio Pro 2003. Downloaded th eCrime Scene add in
from the Microsoft site. Can not get it to install... Get the "Severe"
message : Unable to locate Visio.ini................

Using XP.
Any help. Thanks in advance.

That add-on is not compatible with Visio 2003. However, you may want to
search the newsgroups for "Crime Scenes" or similar. I believe someone came
up with a workaround to get the add-on to load.

I had the same problem with NT. I don't remember the exact sequence but when
you get a dialogue box asking for something, there's one intuitive answer.
It will give you the message below. We made the other selection and it
works. Experiment with the installation.

Sorry I couldn't be more exact but it was several months ago.

I ran into this same problem when I loaded it. I fixed the problem by creating
a dummy visio.ini file in the visio root directory. Even though the file did
nothing the install thought it was the correct file it was looking for and it
loaded just fine...at least in my case.
