"Allow users to edit range." Office 03 vs. 97...
I am working on a project related to spreadsheet security and would like to
utilize the flexibility the "Allow users to edit ranges..." feature in Office 03 offers. Most people at the company appear to still be on office 97 (Win2k is the OS) and this feature does not appear to work. Does anyone know if there is anyway to use this feature in office 97, or would an upgrade be required? |

First of all "spredsheet security" is an oxymoron, there is no such thing,
sure you can protect against Grandma Sarah but anyone that would bother to use a search engine will find that sheet and workbook protection is basically non existant With regards to your question yes your users would need an Office upgrade for this to work. If you are developing any systems always use the oldest version to develop in Regards, Peo Sjoblom "RH" wrote: I am working on a project related to spreadsheet security and would like to utilize the flexibility the "Allow users to edit ranges..." feature in Office 03 offers. That feature is not available in Excel 97. Users would have to
upgrade. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "RH" wrote in message ...
