Publisher 2007 Default File Location
Would like to change the default file location for MSPub documents to my
existing folder PubDocs. In Publisher 2007, there is no way I can find to change the default file location to my folder PubDocs either under Tools:Options or Tools:Customize. Would like Publisher 2007 to default to PubDocs for both opening existing files and saving new ones. Anyone have a fix for this? Thanks! |

Publisher 2007 Default File Location
The closest solution:
Save as, browse to the folder, right-click the "Save in" task pane, add the folder you browsed to. Next time it will be readily available. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "amarksp" wrote in message ... Publisher 2007 Default File Location
Yes, but this only makes the default location change for one session. Next
time I start up Publisher 2007, it defaults back to the My Documents folder. Anyway to make a PERMANENT change? For example, can I create shortcut that specifies default folder PubDocs, here is change I have made to MSPub.exe shortcut: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\MSPUB.EXE" /b But this just opens blank document. Publisher 2007 Default File Location
The folder will always be listed in the Look In task pane if you added it. It is
one simple click away. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "amarksp" wrote in message ... Publisher 2007 Default File Location
Ok, thanks much.
What are the procedures so that the "Task Pane" toolbar does not appear as a default? Using the command "Tools: Customize: Toolbars" I can unclick "Task Pane" so this toolbar does not appear for the session. However, when I reopen a file, the Task Pane toolbar appears again as a default option. "Mary Sauer" wrote: The folder will always be listed in the Look In task pane if you added it. Publisher 2007 Default File Location
This is something I cannot give you advice for, I have tried several things to
get the Format task pane not to be opened when Publisher opens, nothing works. The Task Pane is a tear-off, you can resize it to quite small and drag it to a less obtrusive area of the screen. It will remain there when you close and re-open Publisher. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "amarksp" wrote in message ... If you have Windows XP, use *My Places*. Create a folder, when you save, it will
be one additional click. If you have Vista, Create a folder, drag the default folder to Favorite Links. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Kristen" wrote in message ... Publisher 2007 Default File Location
I have a short term resolution to this problem.
Make a default template save it in the Default folder. Delete the "Publisher program [shortcut]" from the start programs menu. Then make a short cut to this template in the start menu. You may also want to change the icon for this shortcut making it loot like the orginal. This is only an interim solution, but it works.
