Process for Developing Access Applications Remotely
I am looking for recommendations on a process that will allow two people, who
are developing an Access application, to develop the application remotely from each other. What tools, process, and so on would you recommend. The concerns we are trying to address is: 1. Where should they store the application? Should it be stored on a remote server so that either can access it? 2. How can two people work on the develop on it without causing any sort of system locks I am sure there are several other things that needs to be addressed, so looking for any and all thoughts. Thanks in advance. |

You mean, to developers are working on one Access application at the same time? What tools, process, and so on would you recommend. Process for Developing Access Applications Remotely
Hello,
I presume visual sourcesafe has a cost or is it built into Access itself? The two person team is not a team of programmers per se, but they know how to write simple visual basic code, but they definitely know how to develop queries, forms, tables. Is visual sourcesafe more for the visual basic (looked like it was part of visual studio). Any recommendations is helpful. Our hope is to spend the most time on developing the access application and not learning how to use software development tools (looking for simple solutions). Thanks in advance. Process for Developing Access Applications Remotely
hi Scott,
ScottMsp wrote: I presume visual sourcesafe has a cost or is it built into Access itself? Visual SourceSafe is not for free nor built into Access itself. But the first link I've posted should have explained it. Any recommendations is helpful. Our hope is to spend the most time on developing the access application and not learning how to use software development tools (looking for simple solutions). The Access plug-in allows you to work on single objects and versionize them. mfG -- stefan -- |
