Default Half text in Word tables

I have a previously created word table that I am trying to add a new column to. I am able to insert the column, but when I try to type, only half of the text is displayed (the top portion of the word is cut off) What can I do to fix this problem?

Default Half text in Word tables

Is the row set to an exact height? Is the line spacing in the paragraph set
to an exact amount?
