text in Calendar Shape Large Month

I have place the large month on a page and then typed some text into a date.
It let me type it just fine but when I went to cut it and move it to a
different date I get the message "Shape protection and/or layer properties
prevent complete execution of this command". How do I move or delete this
text.

Get into the text edit mode then select ONLY the text.

You can get into text edit mode like this:

- just start typing (but you'll lose your text)
- sometimes double-clicking a shape will do this (I'm not sure with the
calender...)
- Select a shape and hit F2 - standard Windows behavior
