Default path for Templates - Windows NT, Windows XP
Greetings All,
Does anyone know the path that should be used if one wants to install a PowerPoint templates that will be accessible to all users of Windows NT and Windows XP? Previously, I used C:\Documents and Settings\twms\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\Our Templates and as a result, a new tab titled Our Templates appeared in the templates box and it contained my custom templates. When my coworker logged onto her machine she wasn't able to see the templates. |

You would need to make them available on your network somewhere. Have you done
that? -- Sonia Coleman Microsoft PowerPoint MVP Team Autorun Software, Templates and Tutorials http://www.soniacoleman.com "Twms" wrote in message ... I haven't placed them on the network.
I bought a software add-in and the installation wizard showed a default path of C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft. The instructions stated that the username should be replaced with mine, twms. I noticed that the user name in the path for Powerpoint's default templates (In the General Tab) automatically shift according to which user is logged in the machine. Is there a variable of some sort that should be inserted in the path during my initial installation or does each user have to install the templates on their machine? Tell your network administrator what you want to do, i.e. share the template
files with other users. He/she can set it up for you. Otherwise each user will need to install the templates on their machine. "Twms" wrote in message ... I haven't placed them on the network.
