auto date complete feature doesn't work

The auto date complete function no longer works in my 2003 Word. It used to
work but no longer does. I've checked the settings in insert, autotext but it
still doesn't work.

You're right. It doesn't work. It didn't work in Word 2002, either. Or
rather, it works for some users and not others, unpredictably.
