Default File size and reports

I have an MS Access 2007 database. The data tables (about 5 tables) are only
about 4MGs, but when you add the reports (about 10 reports) the file size
jumps to almost 400MGs!!!, even after a compact and repair. There are a
couple of Memo fields in one of the tables. But goodness, is there anything I
can do about that? Why does it jump so dramatically with reports?

Thanks in advance!
Marty

Any graphics in these reports?
Background pictures?
Logos?

Default File size and reports

Hi Allen,

I posted this last night before bed, and woke up with the thought, AHHH... I
bet that graphic in the reports is huge. (This was created by someone else).
Sure enough, when I checked this morning, after reducing the size of the logo
image, and reinserting it, we went from 433MGs to 5MGs!!! Whew... the
database is a very happy camper now!
But thanks for your response. At least this will be posted for others to see.

Marty
