tutorial? I need to "print" a Publisher file as a 600 res. PDF so our
newspaper can print it. I don't see an option for resolution when I click on
print. Also, I need to know which is the best setting to "print" to -
screen, print, ebook, or prepress??? I need a simple, easy to understand
tutorial. PrimoPDF is fairly easy to use, but I need help!

How to create a PDF file in Publisher
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302835/en-us

Your best guide would be the Primo help files or if they have a forum that would
be a good resource as well.

Look here in your computer:

Start
Settings
Printers and Faxes

Right click your pdf printer,
Properties
Select printer preferences and look for resolution.

You may have a drop down menu offering you a selection of dpi

I use the modestly priced PDF-XChange and it will go up to 2400 dpi. If
interested,

Thanks Mary and Don.

Well, guess I'm going to have to try something different. I used my last
trial conversion for Adobe. Boss says it is too expensive to buy.

I see on Twocows they have PDF Converter. It is rated four stars on their
site. Do either of you know anything about that program? It is only $19.99
to buy, as opposed to Adobe's $499.00! We don't use the conversion very
often, but I can see where in the future we will.

I suggest you look at the lite version of PDF-XChange which goes for $20. I
use the pro version and have had excellent results and tech support equal to
or better than anyone else in the computer field. Look at the pro version
also, lotta bang for the buck. The pro version goes for $70.

You might look at their list of satisfied customers, it includes many names
you'll recognize.

Thanks Don! I'll check it out. Maybe the pro version will suit my needs.
Sure a lot cheaper than Adobe's $499.99.

If all you want is to convert (not edit) to a .pdf file, use PrimoPDF. It's
free and VERY simple to use.

Thanks all! For clarification, I work at a fairgrounds. We are a non-profit
orginazation so I'm restricted in what I can spend. Since the newspaper
which prints our handbook for us started charging us, this project has become
even more of a headache. The paper uses Mac with Quark programming, and we,
of course, use Windows. Finding a cost-effective way of producing this
handbook has been very challenging. Not to mention, finding a way of
producing it so it is CORRECT - we now get only one chance of proofing it
after they have made their mock-up. When it goes back to them, if they do
not catch our corrections, that is the way the handbook is printed. Makes
for some difficult times when fair comes.

I have hopes that this year, with the newspaper saying if we send our proof
as PDF, that things will run more smoothly in that department. Wish me
luck!!! ;-)
