Brian,

I'm not sure what your attachment is supposed to show. All I can see is
a light blue box on the side of the other picture and then a darker blue
box with a little bit of darker blue over part of the picture.

I should have said that is the case with the screenshot I just posted as
well. That was a transparent tiff from PhotoShop 7 that was imported into
Publisher just now, and it retained transparency onscreen and on print.

I have been doing this in Publisher for a long time my friend. I never use
the transparency feature in Publisher. Transparent TIFFs from PhotoDraw
2000v2 also work like a dream.

Brian, not true - again. Publisher DOES NOT support transparent TIF files
when imported with transparency from Photoshop. You can make a TIF file
within Publisher transparent.

So Brian K, what you are claiming is UN-true.

What you just said is UN-true about Publisher not supporting Transparent
TIFF's from PhotoShop. You are completely wrong.

You can see the blue box through the pic. I will start over and pull the pic
in PhotoShop and make it more transparent so that you can see the
transparency better.

The attached is a transparent tiff created in PhotoShop, inserted into
Publisher, then i drew a yellow filled circle and put it BEHIND the
transparent TIFF (the house) to show that you can see the object THROUGH the
transparent TIFF in Publisher (not using Publisher's transparent tools).

I am confused as to why anyone would question me (David) when I have done it
many times and continue to do it. And even Myrna has posted that they to can
do it (because this is a supported feature in Publisher!)

Brian,

Don't waste your time. I've e-mailed you two photos, a 32 bit tif with
transparency along with a jpg. Instructions were included. :-)

I only have Photoshop 5.0, so that may have something to do with it, and
have not had time to try yet with a Serif PhotoPlus file.

Brian,

You are correct, Pub does support 32-bit tif files with transparency.
(Though you were supposed to move the fingers to the left a bit!)

For those interested, the fingers are from the Hemera PhotoCollection,
the guy with the bald eagle on his arm is a scan of a picture a reporter
took for me. Both were e-mailed to Brian and he sent me pdf of the same.

David,

I have PS5 and it doesn't export transparent tiffs. Brian wins. Game
over. :-)
