Riebie,
Have you tried applying the master to selected slides, select your slides,
in the design task pane click on the listarrow next to the master of your
choice and choose apply to selected slides. Does that help?

Thank You Luc. Tried it and suddenly ALL my problems gone. Should have come
to discussion earlier. Would have saved me a lot of time.

This only seems to work if you have more than one slide slected that you wish
to change. If you have only ONE sllide selected, b/c you want to change only
that slide, the program instead changes the ALL the slides in the
presentation.

Not here. I just tested it. Just select the slide in the slide thumbnail
pane on the left. Then on the right in the Slide Design taskpane,
right-click the design thumbnail and choose "apply to selected slides."

If you just click the design thumbnail, then it will indeed apply to all
slides. You need to use that "apply to selected slides" option -- whether you
use it via right-click or via the listarrow that appears when you hover over
it.

Thanks -- this worked. Whew! How nice it would have been if there had been
any "help" link or simply instructions as part of the program so that I would
not have wasted so much time.
Many thanks -- JM
