The width of the column is determined by the longest file name in the
folder. If you're seeing truncated file names then I'd say you have some long file names. Try renaming the truncated file names and use fewer characters and see if that makes a difference. -- Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Hi Major,
You can adjust the width of the columns by holding your mouse down over the 'crack' between the columns and dragging. Double clicking on the 'crack' (space) will enlarge a column to autofit the widest entry in that column. ======= "Mr Major Thorburn" wrote in message ... Bob, there are no 'crack's in the list view and if I select the detail view
and change the column width it is not reflected in the list view. Regards, Major. Beth, I am sorry but I have seen the same file list being shown with ...
trunctation and later no trunctation without doing anything to the file names. Is there any way at all to control the width of the view columns? Regards, Major. I reviewed the thread and I don't think you ever mentioned the
operating system you are using. I'm wondering if that may factor into what you are seeing. -- Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Sorry, the system is running XP with SP2, office is 2000 with SP-3.
I have just looked on my own system at home and noticed that under the normal folder list view there is an option to select details. In that option you can select the number of pixels used to display each column. That allows you to display a partial file or subfolder name. Just what I wanted. I am running Office 2003 here so I will try the column display size option at work tomorrow. Regards, Major.
