Default How to delete the last page in a document using a Word Template?

I'm using an Avery label template that filled one page and went to the second
page. Now I only need the first page, but I cannot delete page two of the
document. Backspace and "Delete" don't work. What am I missing?

See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BlankPage.htm, Since a label
template is just a document containing a table, the relevant part is
the one titled "Table at the end of the document".
