Default ~WRL1070.tmp in file shares

What are these files being created on my file shares. How to I prevent them
from being created? Can I delete them.

Let me know.

Thanks!

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211632 "Description of how Word
creates temporary files". Ordinarily, Word will automatically delete
the temporary files when the related Word document is closed normally.
But if Word crashes or if network permissions are not set correctly,
then the temporary files sometimes don't get deleted automatically.
It's probably safe to manually delete temporary files that are more than
a few days old.

Permissions to the network directorys are set to Everyone - Full.

Is it safe to say that these files are being created because Word is
crashing on client machines?

Hi Brian,

As the article mentioned in the previous reply lists
the files are created as part of Word's normal operations.
They can be left behind, because Word won't clean them
up if it crashes, or Word crashes but there is still
a process in the Windows Task Manager of Winword.exe
still running.
