BOLD has gone wild!
I'm using Word 2000. Suddenly, whenever I press Control+B to apply
direct formatting, I get a heading style -- sometimes heading 2, 4, or 6. The bolded text then shows up in the document map. I do not want to apply a style. I have confirmed that Control+B is assigned to Bold format. What is going on? How do I fix it? *(((({ |

Haven't got Word 2000 open to check, but it's probably the AutoFormat As You
Type setting to automatically apply Heading styles. -- Margaret Aldis - Microsoft Word MVP Syntagma partnership site: http://www.syntagma.co.uk Word MVP FAQ site: http://www.word.mvps.org "*((({" wrote in message news I'm using Word 2000. Yes, the option you need to kill is probably "Define styles based on your
formatting," which really means "Apply a built-in style based on Word's interpretation of what you meant by your formatting." -- Suzanne S.
