Default blue wiggly line

Paragraphs keep showing a blue wiggly underline - what is
it, and how do I get rid of it? Thanks.

Your problem is the word "wiggly." If you search Word's help for "*wavy*
underline," you'll get a list that includes the topic "What do the
underlines in my document mean?" according to which "Word uses wavy blue
underlines to indicate possible instances of inconsistent formatting." You
will see these only if you have "Keep track of formatting" checked on the
Edit tab of Tools | Options.
