auto complete subform
I am trying to create a customer subform with name, address, phone#, etc...
How do I work it so that when I type in the customers last name it will give me a list of everyone with that last name (for example Smith) and click on the one I want completeing all other fields like first name, address, city, phone#? |

auto complete subform
Use a ComboBox with the Autoexpand property set to Yes. Use the
form/combobox in a query to pull the rest of the information after Update of the combobox - event or macro. auto complete subform
Accessabliy,
Does your Customers table have a CustomerID field primary key, or similar? Here's one idea... On the main form, put an unbound combobox, which uses the Customers table as its Row Source. And set the Link Master Fields property of the subform to the name of this combobox, and the Link Child Fields property to the CustomerID field (or whatever it is called). Then, all you need to do is select the customer from the combobox (if the Auto Expand property is set to Yes, just typing the beginning of the name will take you to that section of the list), and the subform will automatically show the details for that customer. -- Steve Schapel, Microsoft Access MVP Accessabliy Challenged wrote: I am trying to create a customer subform with name, address, phone#, etc...
