Default Dictionary Defaults to US Dictonary ALL THE TIME!

I change the default dictionary to NZ English and set as Default. Within minutes of working on the document the dictionary is back to US english. Is it all about America??? How do I keep it at the setting I want. NZ English.

I've changed the Windows default language and the Word default language and still the US dictionary keeps reinserting itself . Any other ideas? I have no auto language detect functions in my options to switch off.

No, because all variations of English are in the same dictionary file,
and the dictionary file is not in a human-readable format.

Try CTRL+ a (to slect all) then change the lot to English(NZ) or English(Aus)
etc.

I agree that, despite doing everything described here, and never, EVER,
allowing 'Normal.dot' to be changed, sooner or later I will find US spelling
has crept back in. I strongly support the idea that Microsoft should produce
a patch that would permit US spellings to be eliminated from what is, in
reality not a US, but a core dictionary. If you can add words to a
dictionary, it must be possible to delete them! Its simply a matter of
Microsoft having the will and inclination to look after its non-US customers.
