Where is the option to create appointment with contact in Outlook 2007
In Outlook 2007, when I have a contact open, I cannot find a way to create an
appointment with him. Previous versions had an Appointment option which functioned like the Meeting option except it opened as an appointment instead of a meeting request. I frequently used this function. What happened to the Appointment button? Using the meeting button requires cancelling the invitation. If changes are made, you have to answer a queston about emailing the contact. It has a don't save changes button which deletes all of your changes. While I should be analyzing each screen that pops up, rushing ro finish my work has deleted it occasionally, I just want it to work like it did in previous versions! Help! |

You'll need to add the Appointment Option to your Quick Access Toolbar ... Open a Contact ... Go to the right of the Office Button (top left on the Contact form) ... to the far right of the Quick Access Toolbar there is a drop down arrow that when hover on it you'll see Customize Quick Access Toolbar ... Select More Commands ... then Choose All Commands ... Scroll down until you see New Appointment ... Click Add and OK your way out. Where is the option to create appointment with contact in Outlook 2007
Thanks for the tip. You have saved me a lot of future frustration.
Microsoft's relocating, renaming, or hiding all of my useful functions is driving me crazy. It seems like my efficiency has gone down and the learning curve gotten longer with each new version released. Since Email and Meeting were selections, I had looked for Appointment and had not noticed "New Appointment." My fault for not checking the whole list more carefully. Where is the option to create appointment with contact in Outl
That's fine, but is there anyway to have it automatically put the [Contact]
into the [Contacts: …] field? TIA "Michaelroder via OfficeKB.com" wrote: Thanks for the tip. You have saved me a lot of future frustration. The only way I have found is to create a meeting with the contact and cancel
the invitation. A drawback is if you modify it it still treats it as meeting requiring you to make a selection, one of which is to not save the changes--a problem for a fast fast clicker. Thanks Michael, I knew about that, but I would like back what I was able to
do in OL 2003. Newer versions are not supposed to remove function and usablility, rather there meant to enhance it. It's like they totally ignored the previous version. Not all that impressed. Where is the option to create appointment with contact in Outl
Thanks guys - at least this allows me to schedule a New Appointment from
within a Contact - but it IS crazy that when I do this it does not automatically link the New Appointment to the Contact!! Let's hope someone adds to this thread!!!
