Default encrypted e-mail attachments

When I try to send an e-mail attachment through Microsoft Works, it sends it encrypted. I am taking an online class and the instructor is receiving work from me encrypted. How do I change this? Also, attachments are fine that I have sent through wordpad, but since it has no spellcheck and other features , I would rather use MIcrosoft Works. Thank you.

Encrypted? I doubt it. Corrupted? Maybe. More likely still your instructor
doesn't have the same version of Works.
If zipping the document doesn't eliminate the problem, check with your
instructor that he/she has the means to open the file.
Please note that this is a Word newsgroup. Ask your Works questions in a
Works group.
